SPECIALIZATIONS
One to One Counselling
We all face hurdles in our lives: relationship changes, loss and grief, anxiety, depression, family issues, work issues. Sometimes our personal resources and energy are not enough to overcome these hurdles.
Youth
I have always had a passion for working with youth. I spent more than thirty years working in local high schools as a counsellor and teacher before starting WCCS. I am quick to build rapport and trust. I have a deep understanding of this challenging phase of life. My experience and compassion allow me to efficiently help with youth concerns.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness gives us the tools to increase our choices when we are presented with future challenges. These tools will help us avoid automatic responses and instead go forward with more self-compassion and less distress. I can teach you these skills and how to practice so they will be ready if and when you need them.
Families and Friends
Are you overwhelmed by trying to help someone else with their struggles? Talking to a professional counsellor who is impartial in a safe supportive environment can bring you clarity to your perspective.

Why counselling?
We all encounter challenges in our lives. Sometimes, although we try, we cannot cope with these hurdles alone. Working with me, a Professional Counsellor, will bring clarity and focus to your challenges. We will work together in a confidential enviroment to deepen your understanding of and achieve your goals. My services are unique to each client but come with the same promise of quality and dedication to you.
A bit about me....
I am an experienced counsellor who will provide a compassionate, therapeutic relationship and wise expertise.
One of my driving life passions is helping people succeed. I have a positive, client-centred approach to counselling and am able to efficiently help people find the tools they need to meet their personal goals. I know all people can learn strategies to deal with challenges of any size and find the strength to make improvements to their lives. I recently retired from a rewarding career in education. I worked as a high school Guidance Counsellor for over 30 years. I absolutely loved this job and felt very honoured to have it.
I chose Carp for my business with intention and love. I have lived my entire adult life in West Carleton/rural Kanata. I worked for eleven years at West Carleton Secondary School and both of my amazing sons are alumni. I have a deep passion for our community and our mental health.
